YOUR IMPACT:
CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Energy Engineer with energy efficiency experience to join our Advanced Energy Team based in either Boston, MA or Parsippany, NJ.
The Energy Engineer will work with the AE Team and clients on energy efficiency and sustainability related projects. Our team is growing and is looking for a quick and eager learner, who enjoys developing practical solutions to complex problems. The Engineer will perform detailed energy audits and lead or assist with follow-up design of recommended Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs) after the energy audits are complete. This position reports to the Mechanical/Energy Team Leader, and a hybrid office/remote work arrangement may be considered.
The Engineer will perform energy audits, commissioning, retro-commissioning, and measurement and verification (M&V). The energy audits may be ASHRAE Level 1, 2, or 3; they may be conducted at educational, laboratory, institutional, commercial, or industrial facilities. Most often, the audits will be ASHRAE Level 3; conceptual design and cost estimates with an accuracy of +/- 20% are typically required to be developed by the engineer. In addition, the engineer will be part of a design team that implements the audit into a set of engineering drawings and technical specifications issued for construction. The Engineer’s reports and calculations are an integral part of the process and will be overseen by one of CHA’s professional engineers.
The Engineer is expected to represent CHA professionally while doing field work and in client meetings. The Engineer must work with client facility staff to gather the required site and equipment data information independently.
