We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the team that is shaping one of our company's core business units. As Engineering Manager at Mesh, you will support a multidisciplinary team of engineers facing complex technical challenges and enable them to deliver high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment. Mesh's platform is used by hundreds of companies, processing billions of dollars monthly, and integrates with complex ERPs and platforms, with thousands of end-users. You will collaborate regularly with development leaders, software engineers, architects, product managers, and management to drive the product development process, facing challenges of performance, scalability, and availability in a cloud-based environment with the newest tools and services. This is a truly unique engineering position putting you in charge of major aspects of the development life-cycle of a hyper-growth leading Fintech startup.
What Will You Do:
- Be part of our engineering management team, help design our future group structure and way of work.
- Lead an autonomous, cross-functional agile team of 4-6 extremely talented engineers in a dynamic environment.
- Face challenges of scale and mature our system and engineering organization.
- Own end-to-end development of features, from design to production monitoring and maintenance.
- Work closely with other company stakeholders such as product, support, and data team to build cutting-edge solutions for high scale in the payments landscape.
- Provide regular job performance feedback, hold one-on-ones, and provide career development support to your direct reports
- Actively participate in our recruiting process, helping to grow the team in any way you can
- Set strategic direction, drive planning cycles, and help us keep our priorities in order
- Communicate technical and product decisions to the right people, resolve blocking issues, and keep our development machine humming
- Own the mission, execution, morale, and code quality of your team
- Partner effectively with product managers to maintain and execute against the product roadmap
- Serve as a force multiplier for your team by removing roadblocks, identifying and implementing process improvements, and delegating effectively
- Your team will build and maintain design and create solutions that support a highly reliable, scalable, performant enterprise.
- Manage resource allocations and priorities effectively.
- Take full responsibility and ownership from conception, development, quality to post-deployment
- Design and work with distributed system concepts like parallel processing, consistency, replication, and scalability.
- Mentor team members technically and professionally by offering constructive feedback.
What Should You Have:
- 7+ years of experience in software development.
- At least 3 years of management experience in mentoring leaders and engineers.
- Strong track record of delivering high-quality software while leading teams of engineers.
- In depth knowledge of industry standard best practices, development lifecycle processes and methodologies. Experience using agile methodology is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and collaboration.
- Ability to make key decisions in a timely manner while simultaneously weighing the needs and input of multiple stakeholders.
- Fluent in English with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Action-oriented, decisive approach to work required, with the willingness to take a hands-on role to ensure deliverables are met on time.
- Experienced with object-oriented concepts and design patterns.
- Creative thinking and passion about problem-solving.
