About the Job

As the Frontend Leader helping build and scale our product, you will manage a team of highly-experienced frontend engineers. You will split your time among hands-on work implementing code while also engaging in product, project and people management. You will enjoy whiteboard coding conversations with direct reports as much as career coaching and mentoring.

You will oversee rapid prototyping of new ideas, the design and coding of new systems, as well as defining the strategic direction for our broader frontend architecture to enable our product and company to successfully scale. In addition to the hands-on aspects of this job, you will also have technical leadership and management responsibilities including hiring, mentoring, and developing top engineering talent. You will report to our CTO & co-founder.

Role and Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of product development, from prototyping new ideas to designing and coding new systems to setting strategic architectural direction
• Be the technical leader, helping with design/architecture work, coding, and implementation
• Manage a team of software engineers: hire, mentor, and develop top engineering talent
• Determine and lead the strategic direction of the user experience and our web frontend architecture
• Partner with Product Managers, UX designers, and Customer Success to ensure we solve impactful problems for customers in an intuitive and easy to use fashion, and that customers actually find value from our solutions.

Required Skills and Experience

• At least 7 years of experience building multi-tiered, distributed web front-end systems, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
• Expertise in web front-end system design/architecture, including building highly scalable systems
• Excellent project management skills, with experience building complex software systems, scoping requirements, and successfully launching products
• Technical leadership experience in building complex software systems from scoping requirements to actual launch
• Outstanding coding skills in a high level programming language (React, Vue, etc.)
• Experience with development using AWS
• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
