Engineering Manager, SaaS Operations - job 1 of 2

We're looking for an experienced SaaS Operations Manager to accelerate our mission of learning from the experience of every patient by scaling teams’ ability to deliver value that our customers can trust. Here's what you need to know about the role, our team, and why Flatiron Health is the right next step in your career.

What you'll do

You will lead the SaaS Operations team, which supports the implementation, support and ongoing management of our core productivity suite and third-party SaaS platforms. Our team drives complex automation between vendors, systems and stakeholders, while spearheading large implementations of new SaaS tools and platforms impacting the entire organization.

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications, you will play a hands-on role driving strategy and execution for a growing team of SaaS engineers. As well as championing world-class support for our suite of platforms, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders from across Flatiron, including Business Operations, Customer Success, Finance, Engineering and Marketing, in order to understand business requirements and priorities, guide the team in architecting technical solutions, and ensure technical delivery excellence. In addition you’ll also:

  • Drive strategy, support best practices, and guide system development and maintenance for our suite of productivity tools and SaaS platforms.
  • Manage and hire a team of SaaS engineers. Provide support to the team in their career development and encourage a culture of growth, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for impactful and meaningful SaaS implementation projects. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and team members. Review architecture and designs, manage technical risks, and promote rigorous decision making.
  • Apply a data-driven approach to measuring operational and project success, setting team priorities, establishing quarterly plans, and conducting quarterly business reviews.
  • Work cross functionally within the Enterprise Applications team and with other units such as SaaS Ops and Business Intelligence to oversee complex cross functional org-wide initiatives. Additionally, act as support escalation point for IT Support.
  • Flatiron engineers work day-to-day with oncologists, product leaders, and data experts. In this role you'll have a chance to expand your communication skills and provide mentorship outside of engineering.
  • Employ Agile development principles to corporate application systems improvement projects, with emphasis on validation, iterative deliveries, and demo-able outputs.
  • Evaluate third-party software products and manage contracts and relationships with vendors.

Who you are

You’re an Enterprise Support leader with experience managing teams that implement, configure and support SaaS products and productivity suites in an international cloud native environment. You are a champion for stakeholder success, and can manage healthy support expectations. You have a drive for process improvement and automation, and you can spearhead SaaS initiatives that impact the entire organization. Additionally, you:

  • Are a compassionate leader that coaches, councils and supports your direct reports.
  • Have strong organizational skills and sense of ownership with the ability to keep projects and processes on track, maintain accountability and relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Have managed stakeholder SLAs and support expectations for a large organization
  • Have 2+ years of software development experience with languages like Python, C++, Java, and/or C#
  • Have a deep understanding of SSO tooling like OKTA and DUO.
  • Managed large productivity suites like Google Workspace and Office 365
  • Have experience managing HRIS integrations and automation of SaaS workflows
  • Demonstrated achievement in driving technology-enabled efficiencies in business processes
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and obtain executive buy-in on decisions with broad business impact.

Extra Credit

  • Experience with Python and Serverless Frameworks like AWS Lambda
  • Experience with other core enterprise business applications, their selection, governance, and administration. Examples could include procurement systems, HRIS systems, contract license management systems
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA

You're also excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact.
