Position Summary/Impact:*
The Engineering Technician will work as a direct labor resource to produce Liquid Crystal Cells and Optical Filter Stacks used in Akoya instruments. This individual will ensure process equipment receives scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration and that the cleanroom itself is functioning optimally. This position is also responsible for improving the process flow for all cleanroom manufacturing and providing feedback for improvements in work instructions to ensure that we are manufacturing in the most repeatable, efficient, and safest way possible.

Duties & Responsibilities:*

• Manufacture Akoya liquid crystal tunable filters (LCTFs), along with associated kits and assemblies to the schedule and work instructions established by the Manufacturing department.
• Become an expert in all steps of the LCTF process (cell formation, stacking, testing, and tuning)
• Train other Akoya staff members on processes required for LCTF manufacturing
• Communicate production concerns to the manufacturing engineer
• Recommend methods for improving LCTF production
• Be familiar with and adhere to Quality and clean room policies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills:

• Associates degree (A. S.), in Engineering or Operations; or 5+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in medical device strongly preferred.
• Electro-optical experience preferred.
• Previous experience working with epoxy desired.
• Ability to translate strategy into tactical approaches to meet the goals of the company.
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage and work under stressful situations.
• Knowledge of product development policies, procedures, and products.
• Effective and creative problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and priorities.
• Demonstrated success holding coworkers accountable to task and pushing back on timelines and fellow staff.

The hiring range for this position is $26.00 per hour to $34.00 per hour, which may factor in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus (or a sales incentive plan) and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
