Enterprise Business Architect

Job Summary
The Enterprise Business Architect plays a key role in bringing the portfolio approach to life across our various products. The Enterprise Business Architect is a critical bridge between business leaders, technology leaders, and Enterprise Architects to ensure that strategy, capabilities, and execution are in alignment. The incumbent will establish themselves as an expert in all Surescripts products and identify ways to make product assets reusable to simplify implementation for our customers, drive effective integration and consistency of our products and understand the interdependencies of data and design between our products. The incumbent will establish an effective governance structure for key customer initiatives and integrate workflows, business processes, business information, and transitions when multiple Surescripts products are implemented concurrently.

Responsibilities
  • Provide thought leadership that continuously drives internal teams to stay out of the “product silo” and focus on building seamless, transparent, integrated, and smooth workflows that create value for our customers.
  • Provide overall direction, guidance, and definition of business architecture to effectively support business strategy. Use business modeling methods to ensure results-oriented deliverables that can be recreated and used for project-level initiatives and decision-making.
  • Obtain and integrate clinical input into process and workflow decisions, including by effectively partnering with our VP Chief Physician Consultant and identifying methods of connecting with end-users (providers).
  • Collaborate with our User Interaction team to build early workflow prototypes to demonstrate how products will cross-pollinate and work together to meet providers’ expectations.
  • Provide direct input into the governance cycle that supports the achievement of key goals, planning and execution of various business scenarios, and delivery of bottom-line business value.
  • Enable cross-functional teams to work in parallel by providing guidance and direction in support of business solution architecture.
  • Apply advanced analysis skills and experience in principles of solutions design to define appropriate customer solution, scope the effort and provide guidance in developing/implementing multiple solutions.
  • Develop business interdependencies matrix and maps to understand and communicate cross-product inputs and outputs as well as the dependencies on data and processes from cross-functional teams and systems.
  • Structure and present recommendations to senior client leadership, exhibiting exceptional communication skills while driving executive buy-in.
  • Lead work with internal and external representatives to document the following, for new products and product enhancements. Business Workflow and Process Diagrams; Business Use Cases (high-level product business requirements); Business Requirements; and other business documents as required.
  • Provide guidance and influence over team members and project team members from both business and IT organizations
  • Present and lead review discussions of the above documents; finalize documents for walkthrough and communication to the development teams
  • Provide business requirements and data analysis requirements as input to the Business Analysts’ business requirements
  • Provide oversight to development ensuring goals and timelines are met. Escalate to project and business management as needed when goals and timelines will not be met
  • Provide requirements for complex reporting solutions to meet business needs while working with business partners as well as other external/technology partners
  • Provide product direction and support for and during QA testing
  • Provide product support internally and externally
  • Provide input into enhancing business analysis processes and deliverables
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in related, progressive roles as a business analyst, system analyst or quality analyst; or experience in a position where understanding health care business requirements and product is key
  • 5+ years of training or experience in creating use cases, business modeling and business requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in driving projects independently
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships across the enterprise
  • Demonstrated leadership in communications/collaboration, performance improvement, and issue resolution
  • Holistic, big-picture, conceptual, and innovative thinking
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in an Agile and Product Management environment
  • Experience with Surescripts products, including expertise in Surescripts products that are being implemented concurrently.

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $135,848 - $166,037 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
