POWER Engineers is currently seeking a full-time Entry Level Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Boise office located in Meridian, Idaho.
- The position entails drafting and design opportunities on substation projects that include physical layout drawings as well as schematics and wiring diagrams
- The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learning client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborating on design issues; and seeking guidance from those with more experience
- Associates Degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree or experience)
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation (schoolwork, internship, and/or workplace)
- The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
- Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for completing tasks
- Experience working with scaled drawings
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Reliable, detail-oriented self-starter who takes ownership of assigned tasks
- Drafting experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, preferably in an engineering work environment
- Experience with BIM automation tools
- Knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams is beneficial
- Good background in mathematics
- Familiarity with Microsoft ProjectWise File Management System
- Familiarity with electrical utility substation projects
