Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an Entry Level Environmental Geologist for employment within our Environmental Remediation Practices group in the Bakersfield, CA office to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative team environment.
_This position is expected to begin in November 2023._
Candidate will gain experience in their discipline through learning on the job and participate in development opportunities enabling professional growth and development. Candidate will complete field tasks, including site investigations, drilling oversight, soil and groundwater sample collection, remediation system data collection, and related work. The candidate will also provide office support for data management, report preparation, and maintain the required AECOM-related documentation and forms.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Conducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging, and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.
+ Field document preparation, field data collection, processing, and interpretation.
+ Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
+ Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
+ Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
+ A Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Soil Science, or related field.
+ Valid U.S. driver's license is required.
+ Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required.
+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ HAZWOPER 40 Hr Training
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.

+ Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $64,500 - $77,500.
