Job Summary:
The Workplace Solutions Director, a key member of the Envestnet Workplace Solutions team is an external sales position with national coverage responsible for driving sales with financial advisors, record keeper wholesalers, defined contribution investment only leaders and other retirement centers of influence. The product focuses are PMC Fiduciary solutions and Retirement Marketplace. Supporting this individual will be two internal Sales Consultants and one Proposal Specialist. This individual will also work closely with Practice Solutions Directors, marketing, key accounts and other stakeholders to distribute solutions to the marketplace.
Key tenets for this position will include strategic planning, development and prioritization of distribution opportunities, direct selling through large group presentations and a consultative approach to individual buyers and influencers. The role requires a deep understanding of the retirement market, primarily defined contribution fiduciary services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and execute the distribution plan for Workplace solutions within the enterprise and RIA channels.
- Identify opportunities to expand Retirement platform exposure. This will include partnering with enterprise and RIA regional leadership, record keepers and asset management sales teams to drive Solutions usage and adoption.
- Play a lead role in identifying advisors that would benefit from value added practice management sessions. Drive attendance to sessions delivered by third-party providers, record keepers, asset managers and Envestnet hosted events. In addition, guide and mentor advisors through various practice management courses.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, competitors and strategic relationships/partnerships. Where appropriate, educate, mentor and share knowledge with the organization’s management, internal staff, partners, customers and prospects about the company’s distribution strategy, opportunities and challenges.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Envestnet to develop, inform and ensure buy-in of proposed solutions.
- Introduce and identify opportunities for Envestnet’s wide array of Financial Wellness Solutions and Exchanges to financial advisors. This includes lead generation for Envestnet MoneyGuide Financial Planning software, Insurance Exchange, Credit Exchange, Trust Exchange and future additions.
- Participate in industry events/conferences and maintain well documented records.
- Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
- As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of financial services experiences, preferably in advisory platform/asset management sales
- BA/BS in finance, business administration or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of the advisory business model and financial planning process
- Developed and successfully executed product and go-to-market strategies within the financial services industry
- 10+ years’ experience of working with financial advisors, managing a region and achieving sales quotas
- Strong business acumen and exceptional leadership, organizational, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent people and management skills to interact with clients, colleagues, cross-functional teams as well as third parties
- Willingness to travel up to 80%
- Agile; able to identify and apply appropriate “win-win” solutions even in new situations
Preferred Qualifications:
- CFP/CFA designation is a plus
- Current relationships with financial advisors in West region
- Live in West region (Envestnet does not offer relocation expenses)
