Cleans assigned public areas, patient rooms, ancillary rooms, operating and exam rooms, office areas, and other areas according to established departmental policies and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Director Environmental Services and within established Catholic Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following essential functions:
1. Completes the seven steps of cleaning procedure for assigned areas including: trash removal, high dusting, damp disinfecting, dry mopping, bathroom cleaning, wet mopping and inspection.
2. Strips, washes, and makes bed after a patient is discharged.
3. Disinfects wheelchairs, stretchers and other equipment.
4. Moves furniture to clean and replaces in proper location.
5. Completes window, wall and blind cleaning.
6. Stocks cart and supplies for work areas.
7. Maintains equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition.
8. Refills and replenishes soap, toilet paper, paper towel and paper cup dispensers.
9. Completes daily Environmental control checklist of areas assigned with discharge list.
10. Reports any broken, missing and/or faulty equipment or materials to Director.
11. Maintains the accuracy of the Bed Status Maintenance screen.
12. Cleans hazardous spills that may occur throughout the facility.
13. Performs similar or related duties as assigned or requested.
