Responsibilities:
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a regular, full-time position available for a environmental technician. This position requires the technician to travel to remote sites to maintain and collect data for environmental monitoring equipment; and travel between job sites performing associated inspection duties required for environmental compliance. Responsibilities include laboratory sampling and recordkeeping; preparing field reports; year round entering of waterways for collection of data with data logging equipment; maintaining stream data logging equipment; environmental compliance related inspections; and general maintenance of vehicles, work areas, and equipment. The ability to respond promptly to emergencies and some travel will be required. The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position may also be required to be on call.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a certificate or higher in water technology or a related field; OR, if no degree, at least one year of relevant experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
- maintaining piping, pumps, valves, and tanks for treatment plants
- laboratory sampling and recordkeeping

OSHA/MSHA safety regulations and performing work within these regulations
- operating and maintaining instrumentation
- preparing field reports
- general maintenance of vehicles, work areas, and equipment

principles and methods of bacteriological and chemical water/wastewater treatment
- working in remote locations alone
- 24-hour MSHA safety training
The ideal candidate will have the ability to hike moderate to difficult terrain during all seasons and be able to safely operate snowmobiles.
