A successful candidate should have a great understanding of the fundamentals of animation and how they relate to game animation and the ability to implement animations in the Unreal Engine. Proficiency in animation blueprints is a plus.In this role, you will• Lead a growing team of animators, helping mentor and drive the style and feel of Fortnite’s animation• Take animation from initial concept through implementation in Unreal Engine• Create character specific animations in Maya using our in-house rigs and tools• Work closely with the individual Epic Art Leads, and artists on the team, to ensure downstream depts have all the information they need when launched• Ensure animation assets are delivered and shipped successfully and on time• Be a point of contact for bug support, triage, and resolution of animation assetsWhat We're Looking For• You have an animation reel showing key-framed character and creature animations• Strong experience with Maya and gameplay systems• Good instincts for realistic and stylized motions• Strong communication and leadership skills• Familiarity with the Unreal Engine 4 art pipeline• Related skills, such as modeling, skinning, rigging• Experience working with mocap data• Experience having shipped at least one titleThis role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA & WA).Pay Transparency InformationThe expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience.
