We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of People Operations to lead our human resources department to drive the strategic direction of our people functions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HR best practices, experience in the defense industry, and a passion for supporting and developing our workforce. You will play a crucial role in fostering employee engagement and driving talent management strategies. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compliance with government regulations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience in the defense industry or government contracting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and talent development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into HR initiatives.


Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives and programs that align with the company's mission and values.
  • Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing guidance and support on all people-related matters.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity and growth, ensuring that diversity and inclusion are integrated into all aspects of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that comply with local laws and regulations, identifying and addressing compliance gaps.
  • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring a positive and efficient experience for all new hires.
  • Implement performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback, and career development plans.
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and manage employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and motivated workforce.
  • Conduct regular reviews of HR processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Serve as a role model for the company's mission, values, and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in people operations, and apply this knowledge to drive continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Collaborate with EpiSci leadership to ensure alignment and consistency in people-related strategies and initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the HR budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Communicate and report on HR metrics and analytics to senior leadership, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Key partner and leader of people projects (e.g. open enrollment, benefits package design, compensation, EpiSci week, etc.)
  • Create communication plans to effectively influence team members and departments.
