Duties

As a Equal Opportunity Assistant, AC-0361-2 your typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Provide referencing and editing support for Anti-Harassment reports and Final Agency Decisions.
  • Serve as a second chair in all Anti-Harassment interviews and create a detailed record of the interview through stenography or transcription skills, timestamping such records with Zoom recording, reviewing various files, and other documentary evidence, and obtaining and summarizing relevant factual information.
  • Establish, maintain, and close case files in Document Management (DM), iComplaints, and other case management software as relevant, compile workload and status reports, and locate and abstract data from files and records.
  • Assist in interviewing parties that approach O&I and advising them of (1) the appropriate office or agency that handles particular types of complaints, (2) procedural requirements for filing complaints, and (3) the format of the complaint being filed.
  • Provide document and file coordination in support of Anti-Harassment and discrimination complaint cases, track the status of cases in case tracking systems and reports.
  • Provide administrative support for the preparation, maintenance, storage and retrieval of O&I files, ROIs and FADs; assist GAO staff, outside agencies, and members of the public in their request for O&I documents.
  • Prepare reviews and distribute documents correspondence form letters and other written materials at the direction of the Managing Director.
  • Schedule and arrange meetings and conference calls, maintain the Managing Director's calendar, prioritize MD e-mails phone calls, and document review.
  • Serve as a point of contact for general inquires, request and questions for Managing Director or about O&I.
  • Develop and implement internal procedures and guidelines for handling files, templates, and other items that will increase efficiency and effectiveness, and take the lead in collaborating with others within and outside the organization to implement new and innovative administrative support initiatives.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the Equal Opportunity Assistant, AC-II Band Level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:


Specialized Experience: The AC-II position require one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band/grade AC-I or GS-7 level (or equivalent) in the Federal Service, or comparable private/public sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience is defined as experience providing referencing and editing support for EEO or Anti-Harassment reports and final decisions; and creating detailed records during EEO or Anti-Harassment interviews through stenography or transcribing and timestamping zoom recordings; and scheduling, arranging meetings and conferences and maintaining a Director's calendar.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
