Investment Research
Looking for an outstanding opportunity to acquire hands-on experience with fundamental analysis and the investment research process? Fidelity’s investment research internships give interns the chance to acquire the core research skills needed to begin a successful and exciting career in investment management.
Investment Research Interns support investment decisions by building financial models, completing financial analysis, and conducting proprietary research. These internships give maximum exposure into the holistic research process through collaboration with research analysts, portfolio managers, traders, quantitative research analysis, and investment support associates.
The Department
Fidelity's Equity Division is responsible for handling more than 130 diversified mutual funds and more than 78 industry specific funds. Assets under management total approximately $2 trillion.
Responsibilities
We are seeking candidates to join the Equity Trading team based in Boston. Interns will be working closely with each of our key trading units, shadowing team members and assisting with various projects throughout the summer. Interns will move through four separate two-week rotations to gain exposure to different trading teams. They will also be exposed to groups working closely with trading, including operations, compliance, and technology. Throughout the program, there will be opportunities to network with other groups within asset management, as well as visit with sell-side counterparts in Boston to gain exposure of the industry. Key goals for the program would include having a solid understanding of the trading business generally, a network of industry contacts, and familiarity with basic terminology and market concepts. Deliverables include a presentation at the end of each rotation and a final project that will include fundamental/technical ratings, trading liquidity profile, and portfolio construction.
