Job Description

  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with funders, staff, partners and employers
  • Sets strategy for successful operations taking into consideration funder, local area and organizational needs
  • Fosters a positive, inclusive and accountable culture
  • Establishes a motivational, collaborative, and innovative work environment that fosters excellent customer experience and results
  • Participates in business development activities, including contract rebid and new business opportunities
  • Communicates project and company activities and progress to Equus leadership, funder staff and Board Financial
  • Responsibility for fiscal operations of the project
  • Forecasts spending to ensure funding availability throughout the fiscal year
  • Creates and delivers on Equus and funder's budget expectations
  • Reviews costs are in alignment with local, federal and state allowance
  • Manage human resource responsibilities such hiring, coaching, disciplining (when appropriate) in coordination with the corporate HR team and Employee Relations Director
  • Oversees hiring of team members to include consistent onboarding and training
  • Sets SMART goals for team members that align with contract, funder and Equus goals/objectives
  • Evaluates the performance and impact of the organization and staff in meeting objectives Performance and Quality
  • Ensure compliance to meet or exceed contractual expectations while responsibly achieving our mission and vision, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of the operation
  • Ensure proper practices regarding record keeping, control systems, and proper reporting
  • Ensure all requisite training is delivered appropriately, providing effective training and support Operations
  • Ensure compliance with contractual and program requirements - Ensure a positive customer experience for all internal and external customers
  • Ability to interpret funder priorities and develop implementation plans
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with our customers, including the funding agency and area employers
  • Administer policies and procedures in accordance with company, funder and program standards
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with our customers, including the funding agency and area employers - perform Quality Assurance and Quality Monitoring
  • Work in partnership with the Project Director and Deputy Project Director on planning and overall day-to-day operations/program development/contract management/human resources/staff development/business development
  • Develop and maintain a communications plan and keep all lines of business communities appraised of project plans and related implications
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, oversight and direction to the project youth team in order to maximize contracted performance.
  • Manage the project monitoring and evaluation system, including project indicators and outputs to develop and promote appropriate evaluation strategies for program activities
  • Lead, supervise, and hold accountable direct reports to meet contracted performance expectations
  • Ensure all staff are trained and assessed on funded programs, customer service, and LEGACY Principles
  • Ensure that all required reporting is submitted in a timely manner to the appropriate parties
  • Performs other duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human services or related field, master’s degree preferred; or an equivalent level of education and demonstrated experience that is specific to youth and young adult programming, with experience across multiple regions and states preferred. 
  • Outstanding writing and presentation skills and proven experience in developing and communicating strategic and technical information in a manner that garners active group participation and leads to successful adoption of learned skills. 
  • Experience delivering information in a public setting (recorded, virtual and live) utilizing engaging public speaking skills and appropriate collateral (powerpoint decks, handouts, etc.).  This includes conference workshops, oral presentations for potential new contracts, company meetings, training sessions, etc. 
  • Knowledge of assigned programmatic requirements; experience researching program policy and ability to translate to operational activities resulting in positive performance. 
  • Intermediate+ computer skills with O365 products, virtual meeting tools, project planning tools, and collaborative tools such as Teams and SharePoint. 
  • Excellent organization and planning skills; demonstrated ability to resolve problems independently with sound judgment.
  • Current driver’s license (with a low-risk driver rating) and automobile liability insurance. 
  • Physical stamina to lead group planning and training activities for extended periods.
  • Easy access to an airport and willingness and flexibility to travel via car, plane, or other appropriate modes with limited notice; (estimated 60%+ travel with surges and lulls dependent on business seasonal ebbs and flows). 
  • A laptop, docking station, 2 monitors and keyboard/mouse will be provided by the company for a home office. 
  • Must provide reliable and sufficient internet access at home sufficient for video meetings. 
  • Equus currently has a Bring-Your-Own-Device requirement (mobile phone with data) at this time (subject to change) – a monthly stipend is provided.
