OverviewAs a Graphic Illustrator at Esri, you’ll work with developers and designers to craft icons for our software, online, and mobile applications, technical diagrams, presentations, and more! You’ll have the opportunity to combine visual communication, user experience, creativity, versatility and problem-solving when creating product and marketing illustrative designs and showcase your skills in symbolic language and metaphorical depictions. Through research and teamwork, balancing literal and conceptual depictions while adhering to traditional visual design principles, you’ll develop creative concepts, assets, and solutions.Responsibilities• Conceptualize, design, and produce specialized graphics and illustrations within established Esri iconography guidelines• Create icons for Esri products, including desktop, online, and mobile applications, as well as technical diagrams and presentations• Develop illustrations that explain processes and relationships, interpreting project requirements to create clear metaphors of purpose and action• Collaborate with other departments to understand needs and develop graphic directions, concepts, and requirements for projects• Plan production schedules for various design process steps, providing technical advice and maintaining accurate workflow records and design files for archivingRequirements• 2+ years of experience in icon design and illustrative work related to the specified responsibilities• Experience in illustration, technical drawing, and vector-based design, with a solid foundation in color, lighting, form, concept, composition, and basic illustration techniques• Ability to identify and solve visual design issues, incorporating feedback from design, product management, and marketing teams• Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator• Self-starter with strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and the capability to work independently and as part of a team• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and icon design skills• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in graphic design• Visa sponsorship is not available for this posting; applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.Recommended Qualifications• Experience in concepting and creating icons with specialized knowledge of iconography• Include a link to your online portfolio or samples of recent work, and a link to your blog, demonstrating design skills• Ability to create automated processes using scriptingTotal RewardsEsri’s competitive total rewards strategy includes industry-leading health and welfare benefits: medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance for employees (and their families), 401(k) and profit-sharing programs, minimum accrual of 80 hours of vacation leave, twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
