Lead Recruiter

The Role

As the Lead Recruiter, you will be the first recruiting hire, who will establish and execute the recruiting strategy for our next phase of growth.  You will be working very closely with Essential AI’s founders to help build a world class organization.  You will take a consultative mindset and partner with our founders to attract and identify top talent to bring into the organization.  You are focused on quality over quantity as you understand the value of time in a fast-paced, early stage startup environment.  You will also be responsible for developing and executing on recruiting strategies to ensure we hire to headcount plans in a timely manner.  This includes but is not limited to employer branding, improvements, systems, candidate experience, interviewing training, etc.

This is an office based role 5 days a week in San Francisco.

What you’ll be working on

  • Build a world class team and talent pipeline in close collaboration with the founders

  • Drive full cycle recruitment on our open roles — build top of funnel, conduct initial screenings, candidate assessments, coordinate interviews, etc.

  • Develop creative sourcing strategies to attract and identify exceptional talent according to our hiring principles

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the hiring team to ensure that we are making informed hiring decisions

  • Constantly utilize and evaluate data to seek out improvements in the recruiting process and structure to ensure optimum stakeholder and candidate experiences

  • Build out and maintain recruiting system infrastructure and tooling

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of experience as a full-cycle technical recruiter in a fast growth, early stage startup

  • 1+ years of deep tech/AI recruiting experience ideally across multiple functions - research, engineering, product, sales

  • Located in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to be in office 5x a week

  • Experience leading a recruiting function from early stage to high growth startup environment - going from 0 to 1(Seed to Series C)

  • Experience partnering with founders and senior leaders 

  • A track record of creative sourcing methods to attract top talent

  • Ability to strategically partner with stakeholders to develop creative solutions

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Previous experience leading multiple functions within a recruiting organization - recruiting, sourcing, operations, coordination, etc. is a plus
