Job Title: Sr. Risk Management Specialist Location: 1919 S BRAESWOOD BLVD, Houston, TX 77030... Duration: 3 Months Schedule Notes: M-F 8am – 5 pm- Hybrid possible once trained Duties Leads front-line activities in the identification of potential risk and provides leadership to the development of plans instrumental in the in the prevention and management of adverse outcomes for patients, visitors and staff; manages and coordinates investigations associated with hospital and general liability occurrences, claims, lawsuits, and grievances; and assists in the evaluation of those occurrences. Provides departmental leadership with clinical risk management input, including quality of care analysis and an analysis of whether providers complied with Texas Children's policies and procedures. • Independently analyzes, monitors, and investigates Potential Compensable Events throughout Texas Children’s. • Evaluates quality of care concerns and potential impact related to events. • Recommends appropriate actions for risk mitigation. • Conducts risk assessments to identify risks/hazards. • Develops action plans related to mitigation of risk. • Provides assistance to Risk Management Specialists in performance of these requirements. Skills • Clinical expertise of pediatric patient care, current nursing practices and routines • Healthcare risk identification and evaluation • Claims management • Ability to function independently, to manage time, and prioritize workload on a daily basis • Ability to manage highly confidential information • Excellent verbal skills with sensitivity in handling anxious staff and excellent written communication skills • Deductive decision-making skills • Conflict resolution skills • Ability to monitor quality of care by observing trends in event reports • Proficiency in PC programs to allow preparation of documents for presentations We are searching for a Sr. Risk Management Specialist. In this role you will lead front-line activities in the identification of potential risk and provides leadership to the development of plans instrumental in the prevention and management of adverse outcomes for patients, visitors and staff; manages and coordinates investigations associated with hospital and general liability occurrences, claims, lawsuits, and grievances; and assists in the evaluation of those occurrences. Provides departmental leadership with clinical risk management input, including quality of care analysis and an analysis of whether providers complied with Texas Children's policies and procedures. M-F 8am – 5 pm- Hybrid possible once trained Education Required- Diploma in Nursing Or Associate's Degree, Nursing or an associate’s degree in a related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license Or Bachelor's Degree Nursing. Required- RN - Lic-Registered Nurses via Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact.
