Technical WriterPosition SummaryObjectives of this position will include the planning and creation of training and technical data material for Radar equipment as well as supporting the creation, review and editing of related CDRL (Contract Data Requirement List) deliverables to the prime contractor and the FAA.Requirements :Solid experience working directly with the FAA and understands FAA requirements.Experience as a system engineer or working with system engineers and Test Engineers requiredSurface Radar Experience highly desired.Skills :Essential Functions / Key Areas of ResponsibilityResponsible for identifying additional or missing materials required to deliver documentation in accordance with the DID (Data Item Descriptions) requirementsResponsible for editing written copy, researching and writing professional documents, including program reports and procedures, technical documentation and training materialsMinimum Requirements : Skills, Experience & EducationBachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience or a Master’s degree and 5 years of experienceAdvanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, including long document (300+ pages) setup, authoring, reviewing, and editingBasic Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator skillsPreferred QualificationsPrior technical publications experience on FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) hardware contracts strongly preferredBasic knowledge of aerospace surveillance terminology, technology, and history is a plusBackground in EngineeringWorking knowledge of System Safety, System Security and Human Factors is a plusFamiliar with System Modelling Concepts (various methods of illustrating a system (e.g. functional, static, dynamic, hierarchy etc.)Last updated : 2024-08-22
