The Ethics Office, under the leadership of the Ethics Advisor, contributes to the good governance of the Fund and assists the organization in maintaining high ethical standards of conduct and the reputation of the Fund and its employees for probity, integrity, and impartiality. The Ethics Office promotes awareness of ethics issues among, and provides advice and guidance, training, and education on ethics for Fund employees.
The Ethics Office’s responsibilities include (a) the provision of advice to management and the Human Resources Department (HRD) regarding the promotion of ethical standards within the Fund; (b) the provision of information, education, and training for Fund employees; and (c) the provision of advice and guidance to managers, staff members, contractual employees, and vendor personnel on questions pertaining to the rules conduct. The Ethics Office issues an annual report, to be made available to all Fund employees and members of the public, specifying the number and general nature of matters brought to its attention and describing the outcome of its work over the prior twelve-month period.
The International Monetary Fund is seeking an Ethics Associate under the general supervision of the Ethics Advisor of the IMF.
The Ethics Associate will be assigned to work primarily on matters related to confidential advisory matters, with a particular emphasis on matters related to interpersonal behavior and advice on approval of external activities. The Ethics Associate will also actively contribute to developing and delivering training and outreach efforts and work closely with other members of the Ethics Office in that respect. The Ethics Associate will also be available to support other work streams of the Ethics Office as needed.
While completed work will be reviewed by the Ethics Advisor for quality, consistency, and soundness of opinions, as needed, the Ethics Associate is expected to carry out ongoing or routine aspects of these functions with somewhat limited supervision from the Ethics Advisor. For routine advisory matters, the Senior Ethics Associate will be available to supervise the work of the Ethics Associate.

The candidate is expected to have relevant experience in an international organization.
Minimum Qualifications
The selected candidate is expected to have an advanced university degree in law, employee relations, organizational development, organizational psychology or a related field of study, or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

The ideal candidate would have substantial prior experience in a similar position dealing with confidential and advisory matters in an international organization, or in a national public or private sector organization, preferably with multinational orientation.

It is expected that the position will be filled by a qualified candidate from within the IMF Ethics Office.
