Event Host (Part-Time)

Fenway Park Events (FPE) is responsible for the sales, marketing, and service for all non-baseball private and special events, at Fenway Park. The Event Host provides support with onsite event execution/supervision. In this role, you will develop a broad and comprehensive view of the non-baseball private event and special event business at Fenway Park. This position is a high guest contact position; service skills, an eye for detail and an outgoing friendly and gracious personality are a must.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Onsite event support and supervision including overseeing event space preparation, greeting clients and vendors, load-in/setup, event execution, event close/load-out, as well as liaison with all operating departments.
    • Act as a righthand to the Service Manager and provide support throughout the timeline of events.
    • Maintain strong relationships with clients and onsite personnel and ensure that event specifications are communicated and executed for a successful experience for the event planner and attendees.
    • Regular checks with onsite operating departments for updates on overall operations, and general feedback.
    • Able to support and close multiple events simultaneously, serving as the liaison to clients and the ballpark.
    • Investigate, resolve and track all client complaints, feedback, and recommended improvements.
    • Solicit and summarize post-event follow-up from clients.
    • Participate in site visits and event coordination meetings, as necessary.
    • Assist with changing projects that support the department’s event management efforts, as assigned.

CHARACTERISTICS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong level of intensity and commitment to providing a high level of customer service.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to work well across departments, with clients and with business partners.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to interact professionally with individuals inside and outside the company.
    • Works well and stays calm and gracious under pressure.
    • Expected to multi-task and retain information quickly.
    • High degree of professionalism in appearance and conduct.
    • Team player willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Prior customer service work experience within fast-paced, high-energy work environments is preferred.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and experience with Salesforce a plus.
