Event Setup / Handy man (Afternoon Shift)

Full Job Description:
This position is responsible for performing maintenance, housekeeping and set up tasks as directed by the Maintenance Director and/or Floor Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs set-ups and breakdowns of meeting rooms/halls respective to tables, chairs, staging requirements as needed.
  • Assist in janitorial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, trash removal and other duties as directed by the Floor Supervisor.
  • Operates mechanical equipment including scrubbers, floor machines, pressure washer, shampoo machines, and sweepers as needed.
  • Occasional pressure cleaning and painting.
  • Assists in bringing problem areas to the attention of the Floor Supervisor.
  • Assists the Floor Supervisor in identifying ways to increase efficiency and productivity within the facility.
  • Ensures proper care and use of facility equipment and supplies.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SCHEDULE:
  • Monday - Thursday: 1:30pm-9:30pm.
  • Sunday: 8am-4pm.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent desired but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of basic janitorial and safety procedures, as well as standard public assembly facility standard room set-ups.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of basic janitorial and safety procedures, as well as standard public assembly facility standard rooms’ set-ups.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions from Floor Supervisors.
  • Ability to work with detail and efficiency.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • No certifications are required.

  • These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

  • The employee is constantly required to exert various types of physical exertion, such as prolonged reaching, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • While performing the responsibilities listed above, these work environment characteristics are representative of the environment one will encounter in this position.

  • This position is an indoor and outdoor work settings with mild to adverse exposure to environmental hazards.
  • The incumbent must be able to climb stairs and ladders and walk long distances to access all areas of the facility.

  • Incumbents in this position work in varying settings and will be subject to noise and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odor, dust, etc.
