About This Role:
The Executive Assistant reports directly to the Senior Vice President/Chief of Staff (SVP/COS) and provides administrative support the SVP office. Duties include calendar management, scheduling meetings, arranging travel, coordinating events, and performing general office duties. The incumbent provides a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality, represents the office in a courteous, positive manner, exercises independent judgement and works proactively and collaboratively while handling a broad range of activities. This position will be expected to possess a thorough knowledge of university policies, procedures, and operations and to be able to operate independently to achieve objectives. The incumbent exercises initiative and independent judgment in managing assigned schedules, activities, events, budgets, and projects.

What You'll Need to Succeed:Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree and six years of relevant experience. This position may use an educational equivalency as determined relevant by a hiring manager.

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated success providing administrative support and coordination for an administrator at the director level or above. This includes scheduling/calendar management, support for meetings, events, activities, special projects and managing office communications.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of the University - internally and externally. Strong customer service orientation and commitment to the University's inclusive mission, with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, with a proven ability to work effectively and collegially under pressure.
Must have proven ability to exercise considerable tact, judgment and diplomacy while always maintaining poise and a professional image.
Excellent attention to detail and follow-through with the ability to plan, organize and control large and small projects through to completion.
Demonstrated problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills including the ability to analyze administrative problems, make recommendations for improvement and take appropriate courses of action.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include the ability to compose detailed, clear correspondence from basic information.
Proven proficiency with technology, including skills in Microsoft Office, on-line calendaring, scheduling, email and internet research.
Maintain the utmost discretion and integrity, especially pertaining to confidential matters.
Ability to work independently or as a member of a team, with accountability for results.
Ability to interact effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural environment, and with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn University infrastructure, policies and procedures.
Understanding of and commitment to the KSU Principles of Community.
