Position Purpose

Sleep Number is seeking a professional and dynamic Executive Assistant who thrives in a results-driven, fast-paced environment, who can juggle multiple priorities, and who can exercise creativity and good judgement in a variety of situations. This role operates as the primary partner and right hand to the EVP, Chief Supply Chain Officer and is responsible for managing the leadership and support needs contributing to the EVP’s efficiency and effectiveness through insight, intellectual capacity, planning and agility. The Executive Assistant operates as a key partner in integrating work streams, identifying needs, articulating the plan to achieve those needs, and gains the necessary alignment to prioritize and execute.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate foresight to effectively manage upcoming priorities and ensure the leadership team is prepared to accomplish objectives with materials and business recaps needed.
  • Ability to understand series of Supply Chain initiatives and the relationships of those initiatives across the organization; demonstrate capacity for critical thinking to optimize relationships for priorities and calendars.
  • Build cross-functional internal relationships, including partnering closely with other Executive Assistants.
  • Demonstrate initiative, discretion and tact to respond quickly to and anticipate needs, pursuing opportunities to change or lean out processes or approaches.
  • Operate as a liaison between leaders, team members, and cross-functional partners.
  • Plan events in collaboration with Supply Chain leadership to include preparing the agenda, planning logistics, preparing materials, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly during the meeting. This includes staff meetings and department town halls.
  • Navigate complex calendaring through Outlook to ensure efficiency and maximum use of leader's time, effectively navigating changing priorities as they occur.
  • Plan and organize travel, proactively anticipating and managing travel-related issues and coordination. Knowledgeable of individual travel patterns and preferences.
  • Ensure all correspondence is accurate, complete and properly handled.
  • Create and collect content to compile PowerPoint presentations.
  • Act as a key partner on special projects as needed.

Position Requirements

  • Progressive administrative assistant experience, supporting C-suite executives in a 1-1 partnership at high-growth organizations.
  • Project management experience desired.
  • Four-year degree preferred or equivalent professional executive assistant experience, supporting a C-suite leader.
  • Operates with a growth mindset to challenge the status quo and explore new possibilities.
  • demonstrate the drive to Well-developed project-management skills
  • Ability to see what pressures the leader faces and identifies ways to lessen them.
  • Ability to recognize which relationships are most important to the success of the leader’s priorities to assist in strengthening them.
  • Communication skills are crucial, help to refine the leader’s message and ensure that it is understood by the right audiences.
  • Organizational and political intelligence.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to plan, align the necessary parties, and prioritize
  • Organized and detail-oriented - creating order out of chaos- know what matters, understand and learn key strategic material, intellectually curious and consistent learner of the world around them.
  • Ability to establish trust and handle confidential information.
  • Capacity to be self-aware, handling interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency with Office 365 (Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel). Skilled at creating professional and visually sophisticated PowerPoint presentations, Virtual meeting set up and planning skills.
