The Integrated Post Secondary Education Society of Alberta is an innovative non-profit initiative that enables young adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to be included in post-secondary experiences at the University of Calgary, St. Mary’s University and SAIT. Upon graduation from university, graduates are offered support with employment in the community. We are currently seeking a permanent, full time Executive Director who will lead a dynamic team in supporting the inclusion of students in all aspects of post-secondary life and graduates in employment in the community.

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week (Mostly day but some evening and weekend work will be required.)

Compensation: Salary range: $68,000-$78,000 per year (dependent on experience and qualifications) Excellent group health insurance benefits and parking are also included.
Responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for the operations of the Inclusive Post Secondary Education (IPSE) and Graduate Support Services (GSS) programs.

Effectively communicate and work with the Board of Directors to ensure that the goals and objectives of the Society are met.
- Hire, mentor and evaluate staff performance to enable them to fulfill their job in realizing the goals of IPSE and GSS.

Complete administration tasks including payroll, expenses, financial records, communications and other tasks as necessary.
- Prepare an annual budget consistent with the funding contract offered by the Government of Alberta Persons with Developmental Disabilities program (PDD). Ensure the efficient handling of funding applications, progress reviews and any additional government documentation required by PDD.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with external organizations (universities, employers, and community), internal stakeholders (students, graduates and families) and funders (PDD).

Plan and implement effective staff training and development.

Participate in the day-to-day operations of the organization by providing direct support to students or graduates as needed.
Qualifications:

A strong understanding and commitment to the philosophy and actions of inclusion.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in disability and rehabilitation studies, social work, psychology, education, social science or related subject.

Minimum 3 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role with progressively increased responsibility.

Experience working with adults with disabilities would be considered an asset.
- Prior experience working as an executive leader or with a board of directors would be considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, organization and networking skills.

Problem-solving ability, proficiency in multi-tasking and sensitivity in handling complex situations.

Knowledge in budgeting, reading financial statements, program planning and evaluation.

A current and clear criminal record with vulnerable sector check and CPR/First Aid certification will be required.
