Executive Vice President, U.S. Employee Experience, People Team

Reports to the U.S. Chief People Officer

Our Executive Vice President of Employee Experience leads programs that empower Edelman employees in the U.S. to do their best work, in an environment where they feel they truly belong and can unlock their own potential. In this new internal role, the individual will be a catalyst for transformational change and introduce processes and programs that engage employees and support leaders within the organization. This individual will influence and collaborate across teams and in all U.S. locations. The daily work will involve executing a full range of duties from high-level strategy to program design to problem-solving. This role is robust and wide-ranging in its impact, driving progress across functional areas of internal communications, DEI, and organizational effectiveness. Additionally, the individual will collaborate with the People Team Centers of Excellence and Global DEI team, and success will be measured by the ability to collaborate with others within the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

    • DEI
    • Own the delivery of U.S. DEI goals and programs to achieve them.
    • Provide strategic leadership for all cross-organizational initiatives, such as diversity goals and our workforce demographic data.
    • Identify, design and execute U.S. DEI learning programs that have company-wide application to achieve measurable, long-term behavior change.
    • Partner with U.S. Leadership to identify DEI content needed and mandatory learning paths for managers and ensure readiness for launch.
    • Partner with internal teams across the U.S. to ensure an integrated approach when engaging in external outreach and sponsorship opportunities.
    • Collaborate with business and HR leaders, as well as our eight employee network groups (ENGs) to strategically integrate and "operationalize" DEI initiatives within business strategies.
    • Provide support, oversight and direction for U.S. ENGs and partnership with ENG co-chairs.

    • ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
    • Partner with executives on key transformation initiatives and develop integrated employee change communications plans that communicate the case for change, increase employee buy-in, and achieve business outcomes.
    • Serve as a liaison to Global teams to ensure Global initiatives/comms resonate with the U.S. employee population, in partnership with the U.S. Chief of Staff.
    • Provide subject matter expertise, thought leadership and partnership with senior line management and People team leadership to drive key business outcomes.
    • Using competitive trends and data insights, drive organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, DEI and other strategic talent programs across the enterprise.
    • Envision, design, and drive long-term strategies, frameworks and implementation plans for evolving a more inclusive culture and increasing the representation and advancement of diverse talent.
    • Develop and/or advise on the development of frameworks, policies, and programming that creates a culture of belonging in which employees feel safe, valued, and empowered to bring their full selves, their unique perspectives, and new ideas.
    • Be an effective, trusted, and credible advisor to leaders on people, culture and engagement, and employee-centric programs to support company purpose, mission and values.
    • Lead the design, development, and ongoing management of U.S. employee programs, ensuring they remain fit for purpose and future-proofed for the changing needs of the workforce.

    • COMMUNICATIONS
    • Shape and execute a U.S people programs communications and content strategy that sets the standard for ensuring employees are aligned on what's most important, and feel valued, connected, and in-the-know at every stage of their journey.
    • Partner closely with our regional People leadership to align on strategy and best practices, and deliver impactful, integrated content and communications that amplify our culture, and inspire and captivate employees at every phase of their journey.
    • Lead approach and drafting of U.S. crisis and social issues response in collaboration with our Societal Issues Response Committee and U.S. Chief of Staff.
    • Design and deliver ad-hoc strategic comms programs in order to engage employees and drive business success.
    • Partner with US Chief of Staff and Marketing team to ensure alignment between CEO’s vision, internal comms and external communications/marketing initiatives.
    • Own the continued articulation of the employer value proposition, and partner with the U.S. Marketing team to activate it through ongoing employer brand programming, reinforcing the organization as an employer of choice.

Who You Are:

    • Proven experience leading and building an employee experience function within a highly complex organization at all levels, including working with an executive team.
    • Experience in program implementation, collaboration, and communication, particularly within a highly matrixed organization.
    • Possess excellent communication skills.
    • Adept at attracting and recruiting top talent, motivating teams, delegating effectively, and promoting, supporting, and celebrating diversity.
    • Experience in reaching aggressive diversity, equity, and inclusion goals, while implementing programs to foster an inclusive and diverse culture.
    • Understand current social issues landscape and have experience in responding to complex social issues.
    • Knowledge of how to apply data and analytics along with key performance metrics to influence and inform executive decision-making.
    • Have 12+ years of relevant experience supporting global talent and DEI functions in a similar size organization.
    • Demonstrated experience in change management and people skills.
    • Possess a consultative mindset to solve internal challenges.
    • Inquisitive in nature and has a proactive mentality.
    • Demonstrated strategic planning experience.
    • Posses’ a passion for driving change.

Basic Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 12 years of US focused employee and DEI experience.
$200,000 - $260,000 a year
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
