Works with various levels of leadership to develop accident and injury. preventative programs. Performs periodic safety audits and observations for compliance to safety procedures and local regulations. Recommends changes to existing work practices and established safety procedures after research and investigation. Acts as a facilitator on all incident investigation teams and prepares recommendations for hazard correction. Performs as a technical safety resource at various enterprise-wide safety teams and site-specific safety committees. Maintains and updates organizational safety statistics. Analyzes statistics for trends and assists with implementation of improvement programs. Initiates, writes and edits various safety correspondences, such as Safety Alerts, Lessons Learned and Safety Reminders. May serve as Building Warden and conducts fire and other hazard inspections. Evaluates and inspects tools, equipment, and vehicle modifications for compliance with established safety procedures. Develops training materials and performs as an instructor for various safety related topics by conducting routine and ad hoc training sessions. Responsibilities may also include developing and implementing health and wellness programs, mandated health training, and serving as chemical control coordinator. Participates on an on-call schedule for after hours incident and may be required to work during emergencies.Primary DutiesPRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESJob ScopeJOB SpecificationsPossess good communication skills, both written and verbal. Over six years' experience in safety, training, or the equivalent combination of formal education/training.Preferred QualificationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities: Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
