What you will do:
This position will be responsible for performing full-service accounting for eXp Puerto Rico, with financial oversight and support for eXp Dominican Republic. Responsibilities include managing general ledger processes, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accruals, and regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with Puerto Rican tax regulations and supporting financial activities in the Dominican Republic.
This position will ensure timely and accurate recording of general ledger transactions and month-close procedures while working closely with the GL Team, Finance, and Accounting Departments to improve financial workflows.
This role requires a high degree of problem-solving and project management skills and the ability to lead process improvement initiatives in a rapidly growing business environment.
The candidate must be flexible, meet tight deadlines, work with limited supervision, and take initiative in identifying and solving problems. Strong communication skills will be essential due to interactions with multiple levels of the company, external auditors, and regulatory agencies.
Monitor day-to-day financial operations within the company, including general accounting, invoicing, payments, and other transactions.
Manage monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes and ensure accuracy in financial statements.
Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with Puerto Rican and U.S. GAAP.
Facilitate the daily receipting, invoicing, and disbursements following property sale transactions.
Own local accounts receivable and accounts payable (with oversight).
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and cash applications.
Ensure compliance with Puerto Rican tax regulations, including:
Income Tax (Contribución sobre Ingresos - Hacienda PR)
Sales and Use Tax (IVU - Impuesto sobre Ventas y Uso)
Municipal Taxes (Patente Municipal)
Withholding Taxes (Retención en la Fuente sobre Servicios Profesionales)
Informative Declarations (Declaraciones Informativas – Form 480)
Payroll Taxes and Social Security Contributions
Support tax compliance and audits by working with external accounting firms and regulatory bodies.
Ensure Dominican Republic financial operations comply with DGII tax regulations.
Assist with all audit requests as assigned, supporting external and internal audit processes.
Lead financial process automation and improvements to reduce redundancies and inefficiencies.
Support operations and transaction teams by resolving financial issues.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial reporting standards.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support business decisions.

How you will grab our attention:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (fully completed), or equivalent.
ACCA/CIMA or ACA (or equivalent) preferred.
Experience:
5-7+ years of experience in general ledger account management, financial operations, and regulatory compliance.
Experience in revenue accounting, strong GL accounting, and routine closings.
Proven ability to improve financial processes using automation.
Real estate industry experience preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skill set required (pivot tables, macros, financial modeling).
Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle Fusion or similar platforms.
Familiarity with Puerto Rican tax compliance and reporting obligations.
Experience in Dominican Republic financial reporting (DGII compliance) is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in reconciliations, cash applications, and forecasting.
