Do you have a desire and willingness to run communications for a crisis from end-to-end with positive outcomes?Expedia Group is hiring a Sr. Public Relations Specialist on the Global Issues and Crisis Communications team within the Global Communications organization.What You'll Do:Day-to-Day Crisis Communications Escalations• Collaboration with cross-functional teams including legal, brand PR, influencer and media relations, and customer service teams to develop responses for high-profile media and non-media inquiries• Manage press inboxes and internal stakeholder requests for inquiries that need escalation to appropriate teams for investigation and resolution• Assist with daily escalation tracking and monthly coverage reports with an eye to identify trends to inform the organization about areas of improvement• Understand multiple data points and perspectives from across the organization to inform decisionsSocial Media and Influencer Escalations• Day-to-day lead for escalations on EG and brand social platforms including monitoring channels to intercept any potential issues with travelers, press and/or influencers• Assess potential risk for incoming brand opportunities and collaborate with teams to provide communications counsel on when and how to respond• Review and provide potential risk assessment for internal and external partnerships with talent, influencers, and guest speakers on our campuses• Provide risk assessment for a variety of PR, social media and influencer relations campaignsWho You Are:• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience• 3+ years of relevant experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations or crisis communications• Flexibility in working non-traditional hours• Experience working and communicating across a matrixed organization and with cross-functional teams• Understand how the media thinks and responds• Roll-up your sleeves mindset and willingness to dig in to understand macro and micro level details of a situation• Experience managing multiple projects at once and seeing each to fruition with strong results• Strong understanding and use of social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and LinkedIn including social media management tools like Sprinklr• Ability to identify stand-out trends and potential issues that could arise• Outstanding writing, editing, and verbal communications skills with attention to detail• Strong judgement and agile thinking on when to interject and halt potential issuesThe total cash range for this position in Austin is $82,500.00 to $115,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $132,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.The total cash range for this position in West Hollywood is $82,500.00 to $115,500.00.
