Job Description
The focus of the Sales Trainee is to learn the company, culture, and operations and ultimately transition roles as District Sales Executive (DSE). The trainee program starts in an operational department. During your time in operations, you will learn how our company handles orders and services as requested by the customer. Included roles in operations include (but not limited to) handling dispatch, issuing bills of lading, direct communications with our service providers and customers, issuing and paying invoices, and reconciliation of all and any exceptions related to the responsibilities that are delegated to the trainee. In addition, the trainee is expected to understand the P&L structure within the operations. The trainee will spend (a minimum ) of one year within one specific department before next developmental plans are scheduled. The next step would involve additional training with all other product and services teams.
The Sales Trainee is expected to execute and align themselves with the overall organization and it's strategic goals coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions. During the training period, the Sales Trainee is expected to learn and understand all product principles in order to confidently promote and market our services to future prospective clients.
The job environment as a trainee is in office. The job environment to transition to a District Sales Executive is predominately external. This position initially reports to the Operations Supervisor of the assigned department with a dotted line to the District Sales Manager.
