Our client one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in USA is looking for Scientist - III (Senior) at Cambridge, MA.Job Title: Scientist - III (Senior)Duration: 2 year contractLocation: Cambridge, MAHours: M-F 8:00am - 5:00pm• Key Skills*:• CRISPR• core competencies with cell culture, tissue culture, primary or stem cells.Qualifications• Candidate with MS with 8+ or PhD with 2+ years of experience in molecular/cellular biology or related biological fields.• Possess excellent communication skills with ability to present clear scientific data and project updates to a diverse group of scientists.• Experience working in collaborative research environments to advance scientific projects.Preferred• Experience with human stem cell culture, genetic/genomic manipulations (CRISPR), biochemical assays, and automation applied to high throughput screening approaches are needed.• Previous experience working on drug discovery projects.• Experience in the field of Neuroscience or Immunology.• Experience in electrophysiological recordings is a plus.Responsibilities• The Our client's Genome Sciences (GS) Neuro-Immunology iPSC disease modeling group within the Department of Data, AI, and Genome Sciences (DAGS) collaborates with multiple therapeutic areas (Immunology and Neuroscience) to identify and validate new targets based on Human Genetics.• Their mission is to validate targets through development and application of improved human model systems to better understand each target’s mechanism of action.• Their group utilizes genetic (CRISPR) and pharmacological manipulations of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) model systems to validate the role of targets in mechanisms related to pathobiology of human diseases.• Our client is seeking a passionate and dedicated experimental biologist or pharmacologist to join our team.• In collaboration with DAGS, Neuroscience Therapeutic Area and pharmacology colleagues, the candidate will perform functional assays with iPS-derived human microglia and help develop brain organoid model systems to identify and validate neuroimmune drug targets.• The candidate will be part of a dynamic and challenging early discovery research environment that is based at our Research Labs in Cambridge, MA.• The Scientist will report into the GS Neuro-Immunology iPSC disease modeling group lead and will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues.• This is a hands-on position.• The ideal candidate shall have excellent lab skills, strong documentation skills, ability to analyze and summarize data to draw conclusions, and make recommendations. ,The responsibilities of this Scientist role include but are not limited to:• Formulate and execute assay protocols to enable readouts with iPSC-derived microglial cells, tri-culture, and brain organoid models in collaboration with experimental scientists within and outside DAGS.• Work with cross-functional teams including disease area biologists, pharmacologists, and chemists to develop and implement functional assay readouts to validate neuroimmune drug targets.• Effectively communicate and present data to a diverse group of scientists including senior managers.If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
