Summary:
Export Clerk provides trade compliance and operational support for end to-end fulfillment and delivery processes including export reviews, product classification, export transaction approvals, international documentation, customs broker management.
What you would do?
· Liaise with carriers & destination offices
· Generate relevant export documentation correctly
· Maintain a list of customers that require a signed Certificate of Origin
· Prepare documents for export shipments
· Ensure that invoicing is accurate
· Ensure that Harmonized Code, Country of Origin, Pricing agrees with Billing Invoice
· Maintain list of any other special customer requirements
· Prepare packages for special and/or urgent pick up and delivery by delivery services
· Coordination of export shipments with various customers and suppliers that include, distribution, order management, supply planning, and freight forwarders to ensure on time and in full shipments
· Review shipping documents for accuracy
· Receive EEI filing back from freight forwarder and review for accuracy, correcting if needed
· Familiar with Signed Certificate of Origin
· If necessary, file exports electronically with the U.S Census Bureau
Skills and Knowledge:
· 3-5 years of relevant work experience as related to export management and compliance including:
· Experience with filing exports within the U.S Census Bureau in their Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system
· Ability to work on projects of low complexity with direction
· Good organizational skills
· Ability to work under pressure/calm personality
· Must be able to work comfortably under pressure
· Ability to move forward with decisions even if the person does not personally agree
· Communicate export documents to freight forwarders
· Develop, maintain, and audit hard copy export files
Education:
· Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred
· General understanding of how MRP work
