Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically inclined Lab Intern to assist in the installation and setup of equipment in our data center. The Lab Intern will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and connectivity of our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
· Install equipment in data center racks following specified locations and using appropriate installation materials.
· Utilize correct cabling techniques to provide console, KVM, network, and/or power connectivity.
· Implement cabling best practices to route cables efficiently and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
· Record and update databases with equipment location, port numbers, and cable serial numbers for accurate tracking and inventory management.
· Remove packaging materials and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company safety guidelines.
· Insert cables into the designated switch or server ports based on customer topology or provided templates.
· Verify active working connections and ensure they are securely fastened, while properly managing excess cabling for future use or easy tracing.
Qualifications:
· Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering/Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
· Basic knowledge of data center equipment installation and cabling practices is a plus.
· Familiarity with industry-standard cabling and connectivity methods.
· Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in all tasks.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
