Here, you’ll be right at the heart of that mission, leading engagement teams, working directly with clients, mentoring and developing team members and building your personal brand as a leader in your field.Your key responsibilitiesIt’s all about providing the knowledge our clients need to execute strategies and resolve complex issues. We’ll look to you to lead client engagement teams in the Life/Health area of our practice, in a wide variety of areas including:• Financial Reporting• Risk Management• Actuarial Transformation®• Financial Modeling• Retirement Income and Pension Risk Transfer• Mergers and Acquisitions• Actuarial Tax• Customer Analytics and Predictive Modeling• Managed Services• Audit SupportSkills and attributes for success• Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment. Play an active role in counselling and mentoring junior consultants within the organization. Provide constructive on the-job feedback/coaching to team members.• Foster relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels. Consistently deliver quality client services. Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Manage expectations of client service delivery. Stay abreast of current business, regulatory and industry trends relevant to the client's business.• Assist clients in tackling unique and complex business issues through your experience, innovative solution development, leadership and a strong EY support team• Cultivate and manage business development opportunities. Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess/ present ways to serve clients. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs.• Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Demonstrate ability to quickly assimilate to new knowledge. Possess good business acumen. Remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.• Understand/communicate complex actuarial issues. Stay informed of and apply professional standards and firm policies (e.g., Actuarial Standards of Practice).• Develop a strong personal brand and enhance the EY brand by writing articles, participating in industry groups and speaking at seminarsTo qualify for the role you must have• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other related major• Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of people and/or project management• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries• Proficiency with spreadsheets and actuarial software such as AXIS, Prophet, ALFA, MoSes, VBA and/or C++ A proven ability to manage time while working on multiple, often shifting, projects, and the confidence to work both collaboratively and independently under pressure• Excellent analytical and project management skills, along with a creative approach to overcoming challenges• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to understand and persuade on complex subjects both in writing and verbally• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% to meet client needsIdeally, you’ll also have• Previous consulting experience or experience implementing new processes/procedures in a corporate environment.• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% to meet client needsWhat we look forWe’re most interested in intellectually curious actuaries with a clear passion for actuarial work. Apply now.What we offerWe offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $145,000 to $265,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $174,000 to $302,200. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
