Our Buying team is expanding! As we continue to evolve as a premiere Women's lifestyle membership and shopping club experience, we are constantly trying to push the needle and find the latest and greatest products for our members.
We are looking to grow our reach within the Home/Fashion vertical and seeking a Senior Buyer to maintain and build out the category for our cult-favorite seasonal subscription box and corresponding e-Commerce flash sales. This person will be at the cutting edge of the latest lifestyle trends, products, and brands with a proven track record of negotiating and finalizing complex deals.
Location: FabFitFun is based in the Greater Los Angeles area in West Hollywood,CA. This role will be expected to work in a hybrid environment and will not be eligible for remote.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and manage new and existing premiere / tier 1 category partnerships
- Source and buy items according to plan for our seasonal subscription box and corresponding e-Commerce flash sales while maintaining a well balanced assortment
- Structure deals and lead negotiations with brand partners that meet cost targets and maintain gross margin profitability
- Execution of complex deals by working cross-functionally with the Operations,Legal, Marketing, Production, Planning, and Merch Strategy teams
- Partner with category Director, Brand Partnerships to develop annual and seasonal category and subcategory strategies inclusive of all merchandising initiatives
- Work closely with Merchandising Planning partners to forecast sales, markdowns, margins and inventory to plan
- Manage junior-level direct reports (Buyer + Assistant Buyer) and ensure that the team is being developed and meeting goals
- Review hindsight business analysis after corresponding sales/Box seasons to ensure learnings & new opportunities are clear and actionable for team
- Conduct competitive marketplace analysis to assess and create business opportunities
What you’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Communications or a related field
- 7+ years buying experience in omni channel retail environment (Subscription or off price model preferred) managing revenue of $100M+
- Strong rolodex with existing contacts and relationships in the Women’s lifestyle category
- Experience managing 60+ active brand conversations at one time
- Confident negotiating costs, managing an order from PO placement through transportation and on-time delivery
- Seasoned ability to effectively communicate and influence teams around product, ideas, negotiations, etc.
- Ability to manage open-to-buy (OTB) and meet company financial goals
- Can develop and execute short and long-term strategies for box and e-commerce initiatives
- Adaptable to change and receptive to feedback and suggestions
- Previous experiencing managing a team / multiple Buyers
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with ability to meet deadlines
- Advanced Excel knowledge / retail math
- Ability to travel seasonally for market/trade shows
The expected annual salary range for this position is $115K-130K. The compensation package will also include an initial equity grant, in addition to a range of generous medical, dental, vision and other perks & benefits. Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications. If we extend an offer for employment, we will consider all individual qualifications.
