SUMMARY
SHRM’s paid internship program enables students to participate in valuable real-world work experience through a variety of tailored assignments within their areas of interest and fields of study. Students will be tasked with different team specific projects, tasks, and participate in professional development projects and events to prepare them for their future careers. The eLearning Systems Intern will provide project support to SHRM Education team in the areas of learning platforms, customer support, team project communication, and platform development.
This is a fall internship that can last up to 8 weeks.
This is a paid internship at a rate of $20.00/Hour.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and understand the needs of the customer
- Assist in processing and updating coursework
- Learning the configuration process for listing online materials
- Assist in hyper-care for new programming launch
- Maintaining upkeep on help desk inquiries
- Ensuring internal and external customers are provided accurate, timely and friendly service
- Teamwork - sharing knowledge/resources specific to webinars and courses
- Project Management – working within and outside the department on various projects
- Carry out division-specific tasks/activities as assigned by the supervisor throughout the duration of the internship
- Manage deliverables and provide regular updates
Education & Experience Requirements
- Preferred fields of study: pursuing a bachelor’s in Human Resources, Business, I/O Psychology, or other related fields
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.
- Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Work environment
- SHRM does operate under a hybrid work schedule and will require you to be in SHRM’s headquarters in Alexandria, VA on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Fridays will be working remotely.
- Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment.
