Job Description

In this compelling leadership position, you will lead the Strategy function with in the Single-Family Operational Risk (SFOR) team by developing the strategic planning and execution function for the team in alignment with the Single-Family (SF) Business Unit strategic plans.  In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination and engagement of cross-functional strategic planning, roadmap development, engagement model development, evolution and implementation of the function and execution.  You will also engage others within the SFOR team, second line of defense partners, peer front line risk teams and stakeholders to advance business initiatives.

The SF Operational Risk - Strategy - Director role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Drive the implementation of strategic goals and vision for the Single-Family Operational Risk team.
  • Oversee strategy development, strategic plan formulation, and execution of business objectives, develop goals and engagement models for the function
  • Direct the process to identify resources to support strategic goals and new initiatives, as well as ensure the implementation of new resources.
  • Collaborate with your team and internal partners on unit's production, activities, and efforts.
  • Direct the day-to-day operations, including: risk management strategic alignment, talent strategy and management, governance, strategic report outs, committee activities.
  • Act as the LOD liaison to second and third line of defense partners, Regulatory Affairs, and peer risk teams
  • Focus on and bring expertise to the Strategic and Reputational Risks and Emerging and Horizon risks within SF
  • Direct the development or implementation of new processes and/or updating existing processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Required Experiences

    •  Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master degree preferred  

Skills

  • Experience in Operational Risk Management and deep understanding of Risk Management frameworks, requirements as implemented within a business unit.
  • Performance Measurement including evaluating programs, evaluating vendors, and defining and measuring KIs.
  • Strong communication including communicating in writing or verbally,  planning and distributing communication, presenting to groups, individuals and various levels of leadership.
  • Ability to influence including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict in a positive way for all parties.
  • Experience leading an organization in planning for and managing change in an effort to meet strategic objectives.
  • Experience identifying, developing and selecting strategic options, and identifying resources and plans to meet the defined objectives.
  • Experience in the process of analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data.
  • Governance and Compliance including creating policies, evaluating compliance, conducting internal investigations, developing data governance, etc.
  • Learning and Training including conducting, developing, and evaluating training, instructional design, and learning management systems.
  • Risk Assessment and Management including evaluating and designing controls, conducting impact assessments, identifying control gaps, remediating risk, etc.
  • Business Insight including advising, designing business models, interpreting customer and market insights, forecasting, benchmarking, etc.
  • Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical question
  • Relationship Management including managing and engaging stakeholders, customers, and vendors, building relationship networks, contracting, etc.
  • Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand, specifically to Senior and Executive Leadership
  • Collective capabilities for leadership, including leading teams, giving feedback, facilitating meetings, and coaching and mentoring
  • Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal
  • Skilled in the graphical representation of information in the form of a charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards with programs and tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Operational Excellence including improving and overseeing operations
  • Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion.
