The Role
The Fashion Assistant is a vital member of the Global Fashion Network (GFN). They are responsible for providing support for all fashion editorial and market related projects. They work closely with the GFN, Fashion Directors, Fashion Editors and Contributing Editors in executing fashion editorial and content across all platforms. They must have experience and the professionalism required to appropriately participate and represent British GQ in store pulls, press days etc.
They will provide on the ground logistical support for all aspects of any fashion shoot, including but not limited to - research, moodboards, call ins, packing of cases, messengers, sample tracking, carnets, on set support, sample tracking etc.
As part of the GFN, this role also offers support to other brands within the network when needed.
What will you be doing?
Work directly with the Fashion Editor, communicating daily about upcoming fashion stories, projects and fashion market work.
Existing relationships with fashion brand PR representatives & effective communication with brands.
Assist stylists with fittings and on set as needed.
To manage all shoot logistics; research, moodboards, arranging messengers, packing cases, sample tracking and check-in of samples, organise transport for shoots.
Maintain and organise the fashion cupboard
Organise store appointments between PRs and stylists/editors, and liaise with PRs and general requests. Also attend store appointments/pulls
Gather and collate credits for photoshoots, maintain all credit documents and keep note of all advertisers to ensure they are a priority for shooting
Maintain the press appointments calendar
Maintain the fashion week schedule and request tickets for fashion week
Help dress talent and models on set
Help with extra tasks on set e.g running errands
Assist with events e.g MOTY or GQ Heroes (includes helping dress talent)
Source lookbooks from every brand at the start of each season
Help organise shipments for overseas shoots
Write proformas for all shipments to and from the UK
Convert credits into dollars and euros
Keep note of all brand policies and rules e.g full-look policies
Look into talent’s recent projects and be aware of sponsorships for shoots
Assist with other brands in the Global Fashion Network as needed.
Coordinating and collating schedules for press days and fashion week(s).
Who you are:
Existing relationships with key fashion brand PR representatives
Knowledge of of fashion industry, designers, brands as well as culture at large
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Works collaboratively
Extremely organised, detail oriented, problem solver
Excellent communication skills, excitement about fashion and position
Working fashion experience

We encourage hybrid working but when you are in the office, this role will be primarily based in our iconic Vogue House building, situated in the heart of Mayfair. This is where our award-winning Editorial and Content teams sit.
