The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, has a talent for fostering strong relationships, a deep understanding of user requirements, and the ability to drive impactful design initiatives at varying levels.Key Activities• Collaborate with product management, stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure a clear understanding of the expected user experience and create scalable design solutions for the product.• Explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical staff at all levels in a compelling and persuasive manner.• Partner with other UX designers, UX research, strategists, product managers, product owners, and software engineers to understand user and business needs.• Conceptualize innovative solutions, create user experience specifications, workflows, mockups to meet or exceed the needs of users and stakeholders.• Lean on your skills and insights in a collaborative, agile environment to deliver great experience across products/platforms.• Ensure that all UX activities are executed at high quality levels, manage team initiatives, set priorities, and manage scoping.• Review with and gather feedback on work from your manager, business partners, engineering and peer design team as well as executive leadership.• Advocate for users in a responsible and effective manner, while providing day-to-day strategic leadership in user experience.• Provides mentorship and guidance to team members.Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in Human Computer Interaction, Usability, Human Factors, Industrial Design, Psychology, Computer Science, Graphic Design related field or equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience.• At least four years of experience in human-computer interaction, interaction design, visual design, computer science, computer engineering, or related field designing for web-based applications, websites.• Knowledge of markup language HTML/CSS and design systems.• Experience in industry wireframing/prototyping tools such as Figma, Axure, Adobe XD; Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple demands from various partners, within set expectations for design excellence.• End-to-end understanding of the user-centered design, usability, accessibility, SEO, and other standard best practices.• Ability to work with others to understand requirements and design complete user experiences that meet the needs and vision of the business and their customers.• Ability to influence and negotiate. Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.• Ability to work in fast-paced environment.• Ability to think creatively, strategically, and innovatively to solve design problems.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent meeting facilitation skills.Additional InformationLocation(s):• Hybrid – Kansas City, MO (minimum of 50% monthly)• Remote Eligible – NoSalary:• $75,600 - $104,000 / Senior Level• $87,000 - $119,600 / Expert-Lead Level• Final offers are determined by factors including the candidate’s qualifications, internal alignment considerations, district assignment, and geographic location.Screening: Certain Eligibility requirements apply.Sponsorship: The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
