Principal Data Architect

Job Description: The Role... We are seeking a technology enthusiast who is looking for an ambitious and exciting opportunity as a Data Architect to help drive and influence the future of FBT/FIT’s capabilities. You work with solution architects, squad leaders and tribe leaders as well as application development teams to build our next generation, cloud enabled data ecosystem by enabling engineering teams to build highly scalable and resilient data products. The Expertise and Skills You Bring • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technology related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required. • Demonstrated technology and personal leadership experience in architecting, crafting and successfully building highly scalable data solutions. • Proven experience in Relational, NoSql, Distributed databases, Data warehouse, Data Lake and Streaming technologies, Master Data Management, reporting and analytics • Experience in Modern Data Architecture techniques and Cloud Data Technologies • Expertise in evaluating, prototyping, and recommending emerging data technologies and platforms from open source or vendors. • Enterprise scale expertise in data management standard methodologies such as data integration, data security, data warehousing, data analytics, metadata management and data quality. • Extensive knowledge and experience in architecting modern data integration frameworks, highly scalable distributed systems using open source and emerging data architecture designs and patterns. • Expert ability to analyze cost and performance in data solutions and recommend improvement for optimization. • 10+ years of data solution architecture, design and development delivery experience. • Relevant certification in public cloud services (e.g., AWS Certified Solution Architect and AWS Certified Advanced Network - Specialty) is highly desirable. • Solid experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban). • Leadership skills to architect and design cloud first data solutions. • Ability to collaborate and partner with business domain leads, data scientists, product owners, Enterprise architects and other functional leads to deliver world class data solutions. Technical / Behavioral • Ability to collaborate and partner with business domain leads, data scientists, product owners, enterprise architects and other functional leads to deliver world class data solutions. • Strong execution skills in a fast-paced environment using agile methodologies. • Experience in serverless data pipelines using Lambda, scheduled batch data pipelines using AWS Batch, Massive Parallel processing with AWS EMR, Stream processing using Kafka or Kinesis, ELT and micro-batches. • Strong experience in software engineering (e.g., Java or Python ). Experience with batch processing framework is highly desirable. • Expertise in architecture and development of enterprise scale data solutions. • Mastery of relational database and NoSQL data stores • Hands on experience with Snowflake. • ETL experience on-prem and the cloud, preferred Python, Snaplogic (Nice to have) • Nice to have general understanding of Salesforce and various integration patterns. • Strong understanding of Data Modeling concepts including 3rd normal form and dimensional modeling • Hands on experience with public cloud. • Expertise in designing end to end data engineering solutions using a variety of data processing patterns. • Experience in authoring and reviewing data architecture artifacts, deliverables, and processes to meet Fidelity's quality standards • Experience with both technical and business sides of data architecture The Team Fidelity Brokerage Technology (FBT) supports retail, workplace, and institutional customers by providing brokerage, clearing and custody services. Data architecture team is accountable for data architecture of the brokerage and institutional solutions, with an objective to modernize the data platforms, improve and prepare our systems for business growth, increase efficiency with agility and, ultimately, the unlocking of new value for investment professionals, businesses, institutions, and employees.
