Job Details

We are seeking a full time Field Laborer for the Wastewater division in Sanford, Florida. This position is responsible for removing sand and grit from wastewater treatment tanks.

Competence & Qualifications:
  • 0-2 years’ experience preferred but not required, in outside labor or construction industry.
  • Confined space, OSHA 10 & crane signaling training/certification will be supplied by Hydro International.
  • Mechanical experience is a plus.
Physical & Other Requirements:
  • Domestic travel Monday – Friday (typically home on weekends).
  • Clean and valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and smelly dirty conditions.
  • Frequently required to use personal protective equipment such as safety toe boots, gloves, hardhats, and safety glasses.
  • Ability to bend, kneel or crouch down, and climb stairs or ladders etc.
  • US citizenship or ability to work in the US.
Skills & Attributes:
  • General knowledge of maintenance and cleaning tasks
  • Ability to follow direction and learn new skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow directions
  • Able to perform duties effectively in or out of confined spaces
Key Duties:
  • Wastewater Tank Cleaning: In and Out of service
  • Perform work duties in relation to direct instructions from the Field Supervisor, which may include shoveling or pulling buckets with ropes.
  • All personal PPE is required to be worn on all job sites: Safety toe boots, Safety vests, hard hats, and safety glasses.
  • Be on time in the mornings, look presentable & professional at the start of each day, be self-motivated and be focused on the job at hand, most of all be a team player with your crew.
  • Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on all equipment.
  • Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
  • Work closely with management and co-workers to ensure a professional and seamless service to our customers.
  • Follow Hydro’s internal control and ISO quality control procedures and work in accordance with all relevant company policies.
  • To perform duties in accordance with all relevant legislation in particular the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • To apply requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 as appropriate within the areas of responsibility.
  • Other duties which the company may reasonably require the individual to undertake.
