In this Cincinnati, Ohio-based position, you will report to the Director of Field Marketing / Ecommerce, and you will manage the proactive, business development, and reactive project-focused marketing efforts to a distinct set of customers and Key Account Managers. We are mostly on-site, so that you can work with the Category Marketing and Product Management teams to understand and convey our relevant value propositions, consumer insights, and different marketing programs to recommend and deliver to the appropriate customers. Provide sales team daily support through sales enablement efforts, account strategy, and the application of multiple category and product marketing tools, promotions and tactics. Work with Flavor Creation & Application teams to position Givaudan’s technical expertise to the relevant customers based on specific projects / opportunities.

Account Strategy: Provide support for Account Growth Plans, execution and tracking. Assess customer brand positioning and consumer value propositions for Givaudan product opportunities. Recommend, prioritize, and activate relevant category and product marketing promotions. Ensure that customers know and understand our product and service expertise by telling our “story” about how Givaudan solutions are a fit and how they’re unique. Become subject matter expert on top assigned customers and brands. Ensure Marketing activities are consistent and support Division/Regional Branding and Positioning. Maintain Field Marketing protocols and ways of working to ensure agreement on the broader Field Marketing organization and to promote its commercial mandate.

Collaboration and Partnering: Partner with Sales and align with FC&A to share and present relevant Marketing expertise to our customers. Deliver customer consultations regarding product development and market / consumer insights. Plan, and build, customer Innovation Days. Identify gaps and business opportunities within the respective account base; advise category marketing and product management teammates for collateral, program and product gaps / development needs. Facilitate and guide Customer and Product expansion strategies to the assigned customer audience.

Marketing Talent and Expertise: Develop, adapt, and present Givaudan business objective-based promotions and expertise to customer contacts. Be an expert on Givaudan Sales Enablement systems like Marketplace, Pegasus, and Atlas. Use proprietary and secondary insight programs and data platforms like FlavorFinders, Seasons, Fit & Appeal, Mintel, Datassentials, and the like to provide relevant customer project support. Develop knowledge of competitor products and define and share key differentiators. Work with the designated Key Account Manager(s) to understand/analyze roles within the respective customer organizations: decision makers, influencers, other important targets for tactical engagement to support account-specific Givaudan goals.

University level degree in business, technical or communications degree (marketing, food science, psychology, finance or business administration); an MBA or other Marketing/Business Master’s degree is a plus

3+years of experience in consumer packaged goods, food, beverage, restaurant/food service, ingredients or flavor industry in a sales or marketing capacity (or other strategic, customer-facing role)

Market and promotion strategy and principles, including branding, brand positioning, consumer category analysis, product merchandising, distribution channel strategies, and consumer value propositions

Understanding of audience engagement and the creative skills and the ability to link those creative efforts to project/opportunity inflows and pipeline, ability to represent Givaudan and our offerings to convey industry-leading solutions and expertise

Comfortable traveling to different customer locations throughout North America to lead customer discussions and to present relevant Givaudan solutions
