PROCEPT BioRobotics is a surgical robotics company enabling better patient care by developing transformative solutions in urology. With an initial focus on BPH, the company’s AquaBeam® Robotic System delivering Aquablation therapy, is the first FDA-cleared, automated surgical robot for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Aquablation therapy combines real-time, multi-dimensional imaging, automated robotics and heat-free waterjet ablation for targeted, controlled, and immediate removal of prostate tissue. Aquablation therapy offers predictable and reproducible outcomes, independent of prostate anatomy, prostate size or surgeon experience.

SUMMARY
As we continue to scale our commercial business, the Healthcare Economics and Market Access team needs to bring on a Field Reimbursement and Market Access Manager to lead our South/Central Region. In this vitally important position, you will be of your timeresponsible for the management and execution of reimbursement strategies to facilitate patient access to therapy/surgery, mitigate reimbursement barriers of Aquablation providers, and optimize market access. Primary responsibilities include sales reimbursement support, account in-service of coding, coverage and payment education as well as executing strategic payer outreach support and communication. This position will regularly collaborate with sales, marketing, professional education, and the reimbursement claim support team as well as maintaining close communication with physicians, their office staff and hospital accounts.
Travel and Location:
The position is field based and will support a sales team in the South/Central Region so our ideal new hire will live in one of the following states; Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi or Louisiana. Travel will consist of visits to hospitals and clinics in support of local sales development. This will account for up to 30% of your time and the ideal candidate should be within reasonable reach of a major airport.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Address account reimbursement issues and work with the account and claim support for resolution.
  • Lead reimbursement sales calls, meetings, and discussions with new and existing accounts.
  • Support field sales reps with all aspects of new and existing account reimbursement needs.
  • Conduct sales and account reimbursement training and education.
  • Develop and implement reimbursement tools and tactics that support providers obtaining coverage and appropriate payment.
  • Understand, monitor, and keep abreast of trends in health economics and reimbursement policies that impact Aquablation and the competitive landscape.
  • Provide actionable assessments of local reimbursement environments to help guide strategy, resourcing, and tactical implementation.
  • Lead and participate in teams to perform analyses, evaluate options, and develop recommendations to overcome economic barriers to market adoption.
  • Provide strategic reimbursement input.
  • Assist in meetings and working sessions with US payers and KOLs to influence public/private payers to achieve coverage and payment.
  • Travel when needed to support reimbursement execution including site visits to physician practices or hospital administration, sales meetings, product training classes and tradeshows.
  • Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance.
  • Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics’ Quality & EHS policies.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Certifications)

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree, or equivalent combination of experience/education.
  • 5+ years of medical device reimbursement and/or health economics experience.
  • Urology experience, new and emerging technology exposure, Category lll Code and physician/hospital experience preferred.
  • A track record of developing coding, coverage, and payment for emerging technologies with payers – public and private – as well as a thorough understanding of clinical and economic data, coding, coverage and payment issues, including issues that are unique to the reimbursement and market adoption of new technologies.
  • Experience positioning clinical data/studies in support of reimbursement and economic value propositions to societies, commercial payers, and Medicare.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and medical device experience with US private payers and Medicare reimbursement.
  • Ability to assess payer medical policies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payment methodologies.
  • The ability to make effective presentations to all levels of Company management, physician practice staff, hospital personnel and payers.
  • High level of interpersonal skills: influencing, resolving conflict, and creative problem solving.
  • Must be an excellent communicator using all available channels. Strong written, verbal and presentations skills with the ability to present, persuade physicians, physician offices, hospital administrators and key opinion leaders with respect to the Company’s products and clinical strategies.
  • The ability to research and strategically apply technical reimbursement knowledge to a variety of business situations.
  • Comfortable working virtually, with flexible workplace arrangements and business virtual technologies.
  • The ability to manage complex problems and projects while exercising independent decision-making and analytical thinking skills, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $105,000-$150,000 a year.

PROCEPT BioRobotics is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we aim to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. While our ranges are posted, the exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, location or comparison to other employees already in similar roles. In addition to base salary, our positions are eligible for variable compensation through one of our incentive plans as well as equity compensation based on role and level. PROCEPT also offers a comprehensive suite of benefits including, but not limited to, health insurance plans, ESPP, 401k retirement savings plan with a company match, and paid time off programs. All compensation and benefits programs are subject to the discretion of the company.
