The role, at a glance:
The Field Sales Engineering Manager – Americas is responsible for leading, developing, and managing all field sales engineers operating in North and South America. The FSE Manager will ensure the team is operating at a high level with the right technical expertise, processes, and customer service skills to provide Biamp customers with product solutions and AV system designs to support sales growth. This position reports to the Director of Customer Experience and will work closely with Biamp sales leadership. The FSE Manager will travel regularly to Biamp office locations as well as both in-person and remote team and customer meetings, trainings, and presentations.
How you'll contribute:
Lead, develop, coach, and manage all field sales engineers; ensure ongoing development of team technical and product expertise and presentation/training skills
Understand customer needs and sales team strategies and ensure FSEs are in alignment to help achieve revenue growth
Work with the Biamp training department to help identify and develop product and technology training be delivered by the FSE team to customers
Ensure effective department organizational structure and staffing, identify and develop internal team processes
Track performance and activities of organization, performance management of team, strategy and planning to align with corporate goals
Help ensure seamless customer experience between pre and post-sales support
Collaborate cross-functionally throughout Biamp as necessary.
You'll also support with:
Participate in and occasionally present content at sales meetings
Attend trades shows and in-person and remote meetings with both the FSE team and Biamp customers
Understand workloads, assign back-up resources as necessary, and plan for future growth of the team
Report on customer needs, challenges, and requirements
Department budgeting
A successful candidate should have:
Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the essential functions of this role, or commensurate experience
6 or more years of experience in the AV industry
6 or more years of experience successfully managing technical teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lift and carry trade show equipment on occasion, typically 20-30 lbs.
Possess excellent verbal and written skills in English
Work environment:
This is a remote position based in the US with a strong preference for an employee to be located in the Portland, OR or Dallas, TX markets
Approximately 30% travel, more depending on season
Routine use of standard office equipment
