Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips is seeking a Field Support Team Lead responsible for supervising and directing the activities of a group of engineers in the Field Support Organization at the Cedar Bayou facility in Baytown, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, and coordinates workgroup activities
  • Supports operations, troubleshooting, process optimization, process studies, and planning
  • Conducts test runs, small capital and expense projects, data and engineering analysis, and documentation
  • Drives continuous improvement efforts and other initiatives
  • Follows corporate best practices for evaluating and documenting PRDs and relief systems

Responsibilities (continued)

  • Process support for unit turnarounds by ensuring proper training and work processes are in place
  • Provides engineering resources for process safety activities
  • Supervises process designs, economic analysis, and initial front-end engineering and screening of capital projects
  • Verifies that the work of the group is technically correct
  • Responsible for supervisory activities within the workgroup

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in engineering
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing plant
  • General process knowledge
  • Ability to work well with operations, maintenance, co-workers, and plant management
  • Ability to resolve conflicts with functional groups
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • A self-starter with solid planning and organizational skills
