Field Technician

Job Description
Cyient has an immediate opening for an entry level Field Technician in our Telecommunications Team. You will manage Outside Plant (OSP) Telecom field data collection. You will visit multiple job locations daily and record and learn to analyze existing field conditions related to Telecom poles, Aerial/Underground structures and Street/Right of Way measurements for future/current Telecom equipment locations. You will also learn to determine ideal locations & situations for above ground equipment and fiber optic cables and identify issues in the field that could improve network designs. You will collect and submit data using various types of handheld electronic GIS equipment, and other hand held equipment. Work may involve walking one or more miles daily while collecting data. We will provide job training in the use of electronic equipment required to complete the work and outside plant utility recognition/design.
You Will:

• Travel to multiple job locations daily to review proposed OSP fiber and equipment locations and designs for field accuracy and propose adjustments when needed.
• Take field measurements and photos of utility poles, equipment, cables, proposed equipment cabinets/boxes and street dimensions.
• Collaborate with the office Permit team to review and submit Encroachment permits to various municipalities.
• Walk and work outdoors daily, in different weather conditions.

You'll Need:

• 2+ years of experience commonly used Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to walk and work outdoors daily, in different weather conditions, and carry up to 25lbs.
• Will be willing to Travel 90%
• You must successfully pass a Background Check and Drug Screen.
• You must have a clean driving record and have reliable transportation
