Film and Media Arts Production Coordinator

Tutors and mentors students through the school’s production equipment, software, and facilities including film production studios, prop room and other production spaces. Aids faculty, staff and oversees student and departmental project evolution from production through postproduction leading to final output for theatrical, streaming presentations, public exhibition, and student portfolio inclusion. Aids students in the acquisition of location insurance and permitting needs for shooting on Cleveland State University (CSU) property, City of Cleveland, and other remote locations. Acting as a professional liaison with numerous internal and external constituents including but not limited to, the School of Film & Media Arts, CSU, City of Cleveland, Playhouse Square and the Greater Cleveland Film Commission. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferably in a media or related field.
Three (3) years of experience in a media related position.
Understanding of the film production and post production processes.
Experience working with industry standard production and postproduction software and outputs for distribution.
Supervisory or leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in filmmaking or related field.
Professional experience in digital cinema production.
Previous higher education experience.
Knowledge of industry standard film production processes including camera operation, lighting and rigging, set construction, studio management, location management, and media management.

Skilled in project management, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence, and persuasion. The ability to function as systems thinker and be solution minded with a global perspective.
Ability to successfully perform general math calculations and have strong calculation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
