Finance and Planning Analyst

EdPlus is currently seeking a highly-motivated and energetic Finance and Planning Analyst.This position performs detailed and in-depth analysis in support of ASU’s (EdPlus) strategic,financial and budget planning. Position responsibilities to include: forecasting, ROI / IRRanalysis, raw data manipulation, competitor analysis, variance analysis, model creation,statistical comparisons, enrollment management and other FP&A tasks as needed. The positionreports to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager; however, has visibility to EdPlus SeniorDirectors and the CFO. The position requires a high level of attention-to-detail whilecreating/maintaining effective working relationships. A Bachelor’s degree and prior FinancialPlanning and Analysis work experience is required. Experience working in a fast-pacedenvironment with changing priorities and short deadlines is a plus.

Essential Duties

  • Creates, compiles and interprets output from models that assist in business decisions on awide range of subjects.
  • Reports, communicates and leads discussions on findings to multiple levels of leadershipat EdPlus - including Managers, Senior Directors and the CFO.
  • Works with internal and external systems to compile a wide range of data (i.e. internalenrollment and academic data sources, government websites such as IPEDS and otherpublic educational databases, competitor websites, Sales Force and others) for financialplanning and decision-making efforts.
  • Analyzes and interprets quantitative and qualitative data; reviews and validates resultswith FP&A Manager or designee.
  • Maintains and develops data files for use in report creation and weekly KPI distribution.
  • Assists in preparation of a variety of statistical and written reports and presentationsutilizing multiple and varied ASU data as well as external data sources.
  • Communicates with internal and external constituencies to obtain necessary information.As requested, explains analyses, plans, or analytical reports to senior administrators.
  • Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of experience in conducting research, statistical analyses or planning; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Evidence of Critical Thinking Skills, possess a “Can Do” attitude in team and individualsettings

  • Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis work
  • Ability to create and maintain internal and external working relationships that foster acollaborative environment
  • Experience in working in a fast-paced environment while dealing with varying degrees of ambiguity and curious nature with an eagerness to learn

Working Environment

EdPlus at ASU is located at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center. The center houses a diverse business community that links technology, research, education, and entrepreneurship to position ASU and Greater Phoenix as global leaders in the knowledge economy.

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate verbally in English, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
