Job Description


As a valued leader on our Finance Data Management and Strategy team, you will design and manage the data control framework across the Finance ecosystem by assessing opportunities for improving data governance and best practices.

We have one opening for this role and it can be worked on a Hybrid basis from our Washington, DC or Reston, VA office.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Finance Data Management Manager role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Evaluate database model discrepancies and data integration challenges, as well as recommend and implement process and procedure changes to address discrepancies and challenges.
  • Collaborate with business units and technical staff to understand data usage, lineage, and attributes.
  • Partner with enterprise data architecture teams to recommend opportunities to align Finance data’s vision with the enterprise data strategy.
  • Oversee data quality policies and governance controls for Finance Assets.
  • Direct teams to develop consistent data controls leveraging the control framework for Finance Assets.
  • Lead the team that reviews data quality frameworks.
  • Oversee monitoring of application of data controls and identify opportunities to improve data quality.
  • Oversee data management policy communications across teams and conduct trainings.
  • Research industry data controls and quality standards.
  • Review and integrate data into readily available formats while maintaining existing structures and govern their use according to business requirements.
  • Implement and integrate process mining tools to discover critical business processes for automation.
  • Direct teams as they apply an understanding of strategic issues of importance to determine the functional technology needs of a business unit or process.
  • Establish best practices and guidelines related to data controls for existing or new technologies.
  • Continually research and evaluate emerging technologies. Stay current on published state-of-the-art methods, technologies, and applications and seek out opportunities to apply them.
  • Manage the evaluation and integration of new data sources as they become available by partnering with Information and Cyber Security teams to monitor the performance, scalability, resiliency, and security of data.

Qualifications


THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM


Minimum Required Experiences

  • 6 years related experience
  • 2+ years' AWS cloud-based technology services experience
  • Prior people management experience effectively leading and coaching teams
  • General understanding of data and information security practice, industry frameworks, and regulatory requirements related to Cybersecurity and/or Cloud implementation
  • Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion with an emphasis on operational excellence
  • Experience in implementing, maintaining, and managing data controls
  • Experience in the process of analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data
  • Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questions
  • Critical thinking and data analytic skills
  • Strong influencing skills and can work with technology and business partners to define the data framework
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with people with different functional expertise respectfully and collaboratively towards a common goal
  • Skilled in SQL, TOAD SQL database management tool
  • Skilled in AWS Analytics such as Athena, EMR, or Glue

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • One or more of the following certifications: CISA, CISSP, CEH, CRISC, CISM
  • Experience with data modeling, data architecture, and data governance
  • Experience in Agile ceremonies and best practices
  • Experience working for a financial service company
  • Skilled in Oracle Database
  • Skilled in AWS Database products such as RDS, Redshift, or Aurora
  • Skilled in Excel
  • Skilled in Python object-oriented programming
  • Experience using JIRA
